Story

East Cheshire NHS Charity is a local charity that works hand in hand with our incredible healthcare services to help them go above and beyond for patients, families and staff. We believe that everyone deserves access to the best possible.

East Cheshire NHS Charity has agreed to ring fence whatever we can raise for refurbishing the Ward 9 Dementia Garden. The wonderful Activities Co-ordinater on the ward has plenty of ideas for things that will help the patients feel more settled & engaged during their stay.

Kat & Michelle are both Consultants within the Care of the Elderly team. They both love being outdoors. Access to natural daylight is very important in regulating body clocks, especially in disorientated & delirious patients. Also, joining in with group activities provides necessary stimulation to aid recovery. At present the Ward 9 garden is in a bit of a sorry state & we hope to raise enough funds to refurbish it.

Kat is aiming to walk around the whole of the Isle of Wight (106km!) over May Day Bank Holiday weekend. Michelle (with an injured hamstring) is aiming to join her for 54km of it.
