In March this year Roger and I will join a group trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert in support of Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The challenge: extreme heat, terrain, sandstorms and desert camping (no shower for 5 days!!).

The inspiration: our friends Mathew & Lucy Chatting whose son, Carter, has endured an arduous journey filled with stress, pain and fear in his fight against childhood cancer. Since 2016 their charity, Carter the Brave (CTB), has raised over £447,000 in support of Birmingham Children's Hospital. Thankfully, Carter is now in remission following many years of treatment.

There are still many children enduring the gruelling and lengthy protocols that come with children's cancer. It is CTB's sole mission to make this journey easier for other children and it is their ethos that every penny raised goes directly to Birmingham Children's Hospital so this trek is 100% self funded by ALL trekkers so that ALL donations go directly to making a difference to these children.
