Story
In November 2023, my second baby boy Rex Bobby made a very unexpected arrival 17 weeks early. From the very beginning, the odds were stacked against him, but Rex showed immense courage, determination, and bravery as he battled many challenges. Tragically, we lost Rex on 20 December 2023, but we remain incredibly grateful for the precious time we had with him.
During those five and a half weeks, we, nor Rex, could not have made it through without the absolutely incredible support of the Neonatal Unit at Bolton Royal Hospital. The wonderful staff not only took exceptional care of Rex but also looked after me, Johny, and Cole, allowing us to create some happy memories despite the incredibly difficult situation we found ourselves in.
In August, I will be turning 40, and to both celebrate this milestone birthday and, more importantly, honour the memory and inspirational strength of Rex, I have decided to take on a challenge every month to raise money for the Neonatal Unit. I would be extremely grateful for any support you could provide towards this cause, no matter how small the donation.
My calendar of events is filling up nicely with several challenges already completed. However, a significant one is just around the corner on 10 May, where I will be undertaking my first Ultra Marathon—a 47-mile race around the entire Windermere. Later in the year, in September, I will be attempting to swim the whole length of Windermere, which is a whopping 11 miles!
Your generosity and support would mean the world to us and make a real difference in the lives of many families who rely on the incredible care provided by the Neonatal Unit at Bolton Royal Hospital. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for donatating if you are able to!
