Marie Curie is one heck of an organisation. They are there for people at the end of their lives, providing palliative and end-of-life care in hospices and at home. It’s one of those organisations you are eternally grateful for, should you ever have cause to need them.

In our case, the Marie Curie team provided excellent care for the much loved Cecil Skelton - my honorary grandad. Cec was able to spend his final days at home, thanks in no small part to the wonderful Marie Curie night sitting service. This service gave the family time to rest whilst knowing that Cec was in caring hands throughout the night. Being able to get some sleep and have energy for the next day was so important in us being there for Cec.

So we are walking part of the Gower Coast in memory of Cec - a man who could barely sit still and would probably run loops around us over the dunes. Hopefully he will have a good chuckle at us and our efforts. We miss you.
