Walking the Isle of Wight, end to end, 26 miles · 14 May 2023

Histiocytosis UK funds research into uncovering the causes of Histiocytic diseases. These include Langerhan's Cell Histiocytosis & Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis. Seeking early diagnosis, effective treatment and a cure as well as providing information support.

Story

In the summer of 2022, after a long period of illness and many hospital tests and procedures, Ollie was diagnosed with a rare type of tumor called Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis (LCH). The tumor that had grown between his eye and his brain needed urgent treatment and he began a long course of chemotherapy.

Thankfully the brain tumor is shrinking with expert help from a team of specialists in London who have been able to treat this very rare disorder.

The Dayers and the Grays are walking across the Isle of Wight in May this year, back to the Dayers' roots, to raise money into further research into LCH. It will be a long, tough and hilly 26 miles of walking in one day (with an elevation of over 1000 m) so we will be training hard in preparation.

Please help us and support this important cause with a donation!

Many thanks!
