Story
When my good friend Susan asked if I could help to raise money for Noah’s Pink Balloon Leukaemia Fund, I said yes without hesitation. Susan and her husband set up this charity in memory of their son Noah, who sadly died aged 5 in June 2020, having been diagnosed with leukaemia a month prior.
Doing a couple of 5k charity runs is what started my love of running. That was nearly 20 years ago so putting my legs to good use again is long overdue and I’m looking forward to running the Fulham 10k with Susan, Will, Jordan, Jacob and Ella.
I did my first competitive 10k in Lugano recently, finishing in 51:40. Who knows if I’ll beat that. It doesn’t matter. This event is not about pace. It’s about purpose. In honour of Noah, raising money to fund medical research into less invasive and new treatments so more children survive leukaemia and related infections. 100% of donations will go directly towards an incredible medical research project the charity is doing in collaboration with the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity's research team to find a kinder and gentle alternative to stem cell transplants.
As a grassroots charity, every penny will make a difference. Thank you for your support, it means a lot. x
