We are raising funds in loving memory of our mum, who sadly passed away from cardiac amyloidosis on 10/12/2025.

Amyloidosis is a rare and often misunderstood condition, caused by abnormal proteins (amyloid) building up in the body’s organs and tissues. When these proteins affect the heart, it is known as cardiac amyloidosis. This buildup makes the heart stiff and less able to pump blood effectively, which can lead to heart failure and other serious complications. Symptoms are often vague or mistaken for other conditions, meaning diagnosis can be delayed, even though early detection is crucial.

Like many families affected by amyloidosis, we didn’t fully realise the impact this condition could have until it touched our lives so deeply.

Our mum was an incredibly kind, strong, and caring person, and she meant so much to us and to so many others.

This fundraiser is a way to honour her memory, raise awareness of cardiac amyloidosis, and help support vital research, improved diagnosis, and care for those living with this condition.
