Raising money gets harder every year and it’s not an easy thing to once again ask friends, family and colleagues to dip into their pockets, but living with RETT Syndrome for Kim is harder than anything we know and it’s because of Kim that once again I’m asking.
What hell am I putting myself through this time to try and gain some sympathy from wonderful donators?
On June the 8th of this year I am setting off from Kendal in the Lake District to walk 100k …….. I will do this continuously through the night and hopefully over about 24hours! The longest I’ve walked before was for about 12 hours and I was shattered but had the luxury of bed so I’ve no idea how or if my body will cope.
I won’t be alone though, I have my friend and fellow parent Catherine and many other fellow parents and longtime supporters.
This year we have been told gene therapy trials will start in the UK, this can not come quick enough for Kim as she approaches puberty and the struggles of RETT Syndrome just keep hitting her, so all I can do is to try to fundraise to make it all happen quicker.
Kim is 10 now!!! Life is so dammed tough for her and it breaks my heart on a daily basis to see her struggle and miss so many childhood milestones. I pray this comes quick enough for her. Please help us to help Kim and all the other who are suffering from RETT Syndrome. Thank you with all my heart ❤️ xxxx Kate
