I was airlifted by NWAA in March 2023 following a near-fatal brain injury incurred in a road incident whilst out hacking my horse.  The cost for each lifesaving helicopter mission on average is £4500, a price that is completely reliant on charitable donations and gifts. The NWAA are not in receipt of government or NHS funding. I remain indebted to the NWAA and have therefore committed to repaying them through fundraising.  I intend to raise sufficient funds to cover the costs of my lifesaving trip to Preston Trauma Centre courtesy of Katie the Helicopter.   All donations will be gratefully received and appreciated.  Thank you.

Maddie has entered the Antrim Coast Half Marathon in Larne, Northern Ireland on Sunday 24th August 2025 to raise funds for the NWAA, aiming to run the 21.1 km scenic course in less than 2 hours, hoping to gain a PB in that time limit. The route will take her on a trip through Antrim’s stunning coastal scenery, over essentially flat terrain; it will prove challenging but through training and endeavour, it is achievable.

This is a charity run to raise money for local causes. Maddie’s chosen charity is the NWAA, not only because it's my chosen charity, but she also wants to raise much needed donations along with awareness of this essential organisation that so many of us take for granted. Go Maddie - You can do it! Only way is forward - just one downhill at 1300 metres before the end - easy …..

I am unable to commit to running a half marathon (not fit enough, unfortunately) though we will be going to watch Maddie in action and of course cheer her on.  However, I will be undertaking a NWAA charity tandem sky dive on Saturday 6th December 2025 jumping out of a plane 11,000 feet above Lancaster.  Will try to open my eyes to take in the aerial view of the landscape as we ‘glide’ back to earth - let's hope for a soft landing! Not half marathon material but really having to go over and beyond to do this ….  It’s got to  be worth it for the NWAA.
