Team: Nathan & Kate’s Team fundraising for Addison's Disease Self-Help Group

Birmingham Running Festival - 10K · 6 September 2026

Founded in 1984, we're the UK charity for all affected by adrenal insufficiency, including Addison's disease. Every donation helps us raise awareness, improve adrenal crisis care and save lives. All donations go to our 'unrestricted' funds, to help us in this vital work.

Story

Kate, Nathan, Nigel and Becky will be taking part in the Birmingham Running Festivals 10K.

Last year Lucy was diagnosed with Addison's Disease following an unexpected adrenal crisis. Addisons Disease is a rare endocrine condition where the adrenal glands cease to function, meaning your body no longer produces certain essential hormones which keep the body functioning properly.

The Addison’s Disease Self-Help Group (ADSHG) is the UK charity supporting everyone affected by adrenal insufficiency, including Addison’s disease.

Everything they do is driven by a bold vision:

"A world where Addison’s disease and adrenal insufficiency are recognised early and managed effectively so that anyone affected can live confidently and thrive."

With your help, they’re working to make that vision a reality. Every penny and pound we raise can make a big difference to this small charity!
