My Story - A couple of months after my cancer diagnosis in Australia, my fiancé called off our engagement. I arrived back in England destitute with an empty tube of toothpaste. I was a mess, that empty tube of toothpaste felt like a metaphor for my life. I didn’t know where to turn or who to speak to, till a friend and cancer survivor herself put me in touch with Macmillan. They were my lifeline! I was able to speak to a trained counsellor who could advise and reassure me. They even arranged a grant cheque for £200 which arrived in the post the next day! I was so grateful to them that I didn’t have to ask someone for the money to buy tube of toothpaste!

Now I want to be able to pay the grant forward (and hopefully raise one or two more) for other cancer patients in need. I will be taking a bus tour around England using only the local £2 bus fares. I am asking everyone to donate the equivalent of a £2 bus fare or as much as you are able to in these trying times to Macmillan through my Just Giving page.
