Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
I am running the Great North Run this year to raise money for Sarcoma UK as it is a charity close to all of the CLS Amazon’s hearts. Below I have shared my friend and teammate, Lydia’s story:
“I was 21 when I was misdiagnosed after finding a lump in my breast. After nearly 6 months, I found out I had a rare form of Sarcoma called a Phyllodes tumour. Sarcoma UK provided information and guidance around my tumour as well as providing support when needed to me and my family.
Sarcoma UK also fund vital research to help understand Sarcoma, make diagnoses more accurate and improve treatments. This is so important to prevent other young people going through the same experience that I did and to ensure people get treated as soon as possible.”
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep their Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support.
And to Lydia, who is now back on the pitch, you are and always will be a true inspiration to us all. We love you and we are so proud of you.
