adidas Manchester Marathon 2026 · 19 April 2026 ·

GMRC stands with women who have experienced rape or abuse. Our mission is to provide compassionate support and advocacy, helping survivors heal, recover, and move forward with strength and dignity. We are committed to ending sexual violence and creating a future free from fear and harm.

Story

My mum and I have set ourselves a challenge….we will be running the Manchester Marathon in April to raise funds for the Greater Manchester Rape Crisis.

Manchester Rape Crisis was established over 40 years ago as a feminist collective responding to the needs of women who shared their experiences of sexual violence. Today, it is a registered charity providing vital services for women and girls across the region.

The organisation offers free, confidential, and non-judgemental support to women who have experienced any form of rape or sexual abuse, at any point in their lives. As a women-led, women-only service, Manchester Rape Crisis is committed to creating a safe space in which survivors can heal and recover.

By taking on the challenge of running a marathon together, we hope to raise both funds and awareness for this essential service. Any support, whether through a donation or sharing this page, would be hugely appreciated.
