Sheffield Mutual Sheffield Half Marathon 2026 · 29 March 2026 ·

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.

Story

Hiya, I am embarking on two running challenges this month for Southend Vox’s chosen charity, the M.E Association..

I plan to complete the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 29th March and then the Blackpool Marathon on April 26th. I’ve decided to call this event ‘never in a month of rundays!’

if everyone in our choir gave £5 then we would raise an incredible £350 which would be a great start.

The challenge starts this Sunday and I will update this page accordingly.

Update 22nd April.

The first half of the challenge, the Sheffield Half Marathon was completed and I finished in 1:50:47 which was great.

This weekend, 26th April I am running the Blackpool Marathon for the second half of the challenge. I will update this page accordingly when I complete it! Thank you everyone for all your support. x

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

Please help us to support people with ME and their families.

ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy), or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, blights the lives of over 400,000 people in the UK today. The smallest exertion can floor them; their joints and muscles ache unbearably; restful sleep eludes them; and ‘brain fog’ clouds their thinking. It changes lives drastically – disrupting study; making work impossible; and straining family relations to breaking point. Many sufferers cannot leave their homes. There is no known cure.

Please help us to help them.
