Katherine's fundraiser for Meningitis Research Foundation

Kilimanjaro with Choose a Challenge 2025 · 25 August 2025 to 4 September 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
Welcome to my fundraising page! My name is Katherine Grace and this coming August I will be climbing Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. I am looking forward to supporting a foundation that I know makes a huge difference to the lives of those directly affected by meningitis and septicaemia, as well as their families.
Meningitis is the swelling of the lining around the brain and spinal cord, caused mainly by germs entering the body. Septicaemia is blood poisoning caused by these same germs entering the bloodstream and triggering sepsis. They are both infectious diseases that can lead to death or lifelong disability within hours. Anyone, anywhere, of any age can get meningitis and septicaemia, although some people are at higher risk than others, including young adults and babies.
I am raising money for the Meningitis Research Foundation to increase awareness and support for the cause. It is an organisation dedicated to funding research, raising awareness, and advocating for improved prevention, diagnosis and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia. This organisation has an aim to defeat meningitis and septicaemia by 2030, by ensuring effective vaccinations can protect everyone. To bring this vision to life, I have an aim to raise €5820 for the Meningitis Research Foundation.
This will be my first time fundraising. I will be posting updates here on this page of what I am getting up to between now and August. I will be organising pub quizzes, bag packing events and so on, so keep an eye on this page.
Anything at all donated would be greatly appreciated. Your donation will play a vital role in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia, helping us move closer to a world without these deadly diseases.
Thank you.
