Story
As part of the 50th Anniversary of The King's Trust, I will be raising funds to support young people across Wales by taking on the huge challenge of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and summiting on St. David's Day (1st March) in 2026.
The King’s Trust has a vision to end youth unemployment and has done incredible work over the last 50 years to help remove barriers to work for young people. Having hosted the Kings Trust Wales Awards at Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen earlier this year, I was really inspired by the success stories of those receiving them. As a former primary school teacher and now working for a family business that has a passion for community, it is a real honour to be supporting the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the King's Trust.
I have no doubt that climbing the world's tallest free-standing mountain at 5,895m will be a challenge, both physically and mentally. Altitude sickness and a previously injured knee are just a couple of concerns! However, knowing that by taking on this challenge I am contributing to helping to secure better futures for young people in Wales makes it more than worthwhile.
By taking on this challenge, I am hoping to raise £10,000 to help unlock the potential of young people in Wales and give them the best start in life. Your donation will help to address the widening inequality which continues to harm the prospects of young people across Wales. Thank you for considering to support this wonderful cause.
