Story
Just4Children are raising vital funds to give Aidan access to life-changing therapies that will support his development and help him work towards standing, walking, and becoming as independent as possible.
On 5th September 2026, we will be taking on the Mourne Seven Sevens Challenge to raise money for our 2 year old son, Aidan, who is not yet able to walk due to muscle tightness (spasticity) that we’re still trying to understand. Aidan hasn’t received his formal diagnosis yet and currently he presents with spastic diplegia CP however this can also mimic hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP). Both cause muscle tightness mainly in his legs but also in his arms meaning he is unable to crawl, walk or sit unaided. So while we wait for more test results and answers, therapy is so important in helping his brain build new pathways to make movement easier.
Every step we take that day will be for Aidan. Like any parents, we just want to make sure he has the best support possible to fulfil his potential. Aidan will always face challenges in a world that doesn’t always adapt, but we keep moving forward together. Our journey hasn’t been an easy one when his mum was diagnosed with breast cancer when Aidan was just 8 months old so adapting is something we are getting good at as a family.
If you’d like to support Aidan on his journey to walking, we would be so grateful for any donation, big or small.
