Story
I’m raising funds for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association (TSA), a charity incredibly close to my heart.
Many of you know our son, Ben. Just before his first birthday, Ben was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC)—a rare genetic condition that causes tumours to develop in different parts of the body. It followed a terrifying series of infantile spasms that result in brain damage if not treated rapidly. At age three, when Ben spoke only a handful of words, he was diagnosed with global developmental delay and autism. The outlook wasn’t great: we were told he was 18 months behind his peers and would be unlikely to ever catch up.
Today, Ben is defying those expectations. He is doing remarkably well in school - but just as importantly, he has grown into a kind, caring boy. While he still lives with epilepsy, he hasn't had a seizure since he was two.
To celebrate Ben's progress and give back, Milo (our high-energy dog!) and I are taking on a 10km "Dog Jog" on 3 April.
The TSA supported us during our darkest moments, and they continue to be a lifeline for families affected by TSC. As a small charity, they work tirelessly to fund research and advocate for better care. Any donation, large or small, makes a massive difference. Thank you for your support!
