We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Hi everyone,

I’m really excited to be running the London Marathon in April 2024! I’m running for a great charity - Alzheimer's Research UK, which has a close personal connection to me and does vital work focusing on early diagnosis and treatment of dementia.

I would really appreciate any donations to this great cause – wish me luck with the training too as there is still a long way to go…!

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Backed by scientists and supporters alike, the charity is challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting the big thinkers in the field and funding innovative science. The charity primarily invests in research projects with the ultimate aim of finding a cure – the hope is to make sufficient advances in research to make this a reality – as it is currently estimated that one in two of us in the UK will be directly affected by dementia.

There’s loads of great statistics about dementia which demonstrate the importance of diagnosis, prevention and treatment on their website if anyone wants further information - https://dementiastatistics.org/about-dementia/.

All donations will go directly to Alzheimer's Research UK and any donations, no matter now large or small, will be very gratefully received (and will give me that extra bit of motivation for the difficult training miles!).

Thank you!

Kaz 😊
