Story
In October 2016 my wife gave birth to our son at 27 weeks at Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton. Sebastian was born weighing 1.1kg (2lb 6oz) and needed all the care and support from the doctors and nurses to stay alive and keep growing.
Sebastian spent 10 weeks in NICU before coming home on oxygen for a further 5 months. Without a doubt this is the scariest of times my wife and I have ever experienced, praying everyday that our baby would grow and eventually come home.
Sebastian is now a chatty, enthusiastic, funny and wonderful 8 year old with an amazing zest for life, we are so so proud and grateful everyday.
We want to say a massive thank you to all the amazing doctors, nurses and support staff from Bliss who helped us get through such a challenging time.
I am running the London Marathon 2025 for Team Bliss so they can keep supporting families like ours who have premature or poorly babies.
Please support us in whatever way you can, every donation counts and will mean families like ours receive the love and care they need at such a challenging time.

1 in every 7 babies born in the UK will need specialist care.
Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. They rely on donations to fund their work, and without our help they won't be able to reach the 90,000 babies needing neonatal care each year.
Your donation to my page will help Bliss to drive improvements in neonatal care, to ensure that the needs of babies are at the heart of policy and planning for the future, and to provide information and support to all families with a baby born premature or sick.
