Story
St Catherine's provides palliative and end-of-life care and support for the people of Central Lancashire, through our specialised services at the hospice and in people’s own homes. We're here to help people facing life-shortening conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure to enjoy the best possible quality of life to the end of life. It costs more than £5m to run our charity every single year. We rely on the amazing efforts and wonderful generosity of supporters like you to help us raise the funds we need. Thank you!
In June 2015, St Catherine's Hospice provided end of life care to my mum following her battle with lymphoma. We were so grateful for the care they gave her in making her last few days as comfortable as possible. We didn't know at the time, we would then 3 short years later, be back again this time providing care for my brother who lost his battle with melanoma at 39. I am always looking for ways I can give back in some way to show how grateful we were.
After Chris died I struggled a lot but found running helped to clear my head, no matter how slow I am.
Having done 2 half marathons I swore that was it and never again! But on 19th April 2026 I will now take on the Manchester Marathon. By doing this in their memory I am hoping to raise money for St Catherine's so they can support others like they supported us.
