Story

Christian Aid is an amazing charity ! They work to end poverty and injustice globally by providing humanitarian relief, supporting long-term development, and advocating for change.

My first involvement in Christian Aid was as a wee girl, sitting with my dad, at our dining room table. Dad was the parish minister. It was the end of May. Dad’s elders had been out collecting, door to door, for Christian Aid. We excitedly opened, and emptied out, each heavy, red collecting can. The money spilled out, across the table. We sifted and sorted, thousands of coins. I stacked them in neat rows and towers. Dad did the counting. I remember thinking… WOW… how kind are all these people in OUR community, who want to help others, struggling with poverty.

It felt amazing to be part of that process, in a very small way. So here I am again, being part of that process, in a very small way.

This year, I’m counting steps, and money, walking 150km of steps, 5km a day, in the month of May, raising money and awareness for Christian Aid.

And I’d love you, yes YOU to join me, for a walk, just a step or two. No matter your age, or ability or level of fitness. We can walk 0.1km or 10km. Along the coast, on a trail, up a hill, even down a supermarket aisle… And…. If you’re able to donate a few pennies, to Christian Aid, whether through this JustGiving page, through Fife Forthview Parish Church, or direct to the charity, that would be amazing too !

Please join me in supporting others, across the world, who struggle with poverty and persecution. We all deserve to live well, and share hope, for equality and justice.
