Ham Hill to Lyme Regis 50k run · 29 June 2024

We are My Name'5 Doddie Foundation and we're absolutely committed to our goal: A World Free of MND. We will leave no stone unturned in the relentless pursuit of this goal as we fund, guide and enable the smartest, most efficient MND research to catalyse a cure for motor neuron disease.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page.

Ten years ago, in June 2014, my best friend’s father, Dan Sheldon, died from Motor Neurone Disease (MND). In November of 2022, as I was starting my rugby 'career', Doddie Weir lost his fight against MND and on the 2nd of June 2024, Rob Burrow lost his. Watching them on TV undergo the same progression as my friend’s Dad has reminded me how terrible this disease truly is.

I have geared up my support team (Alfie and Paul, pictured with me on the page) and have been working on the plan my trainer has built, more or less. Strava is now linked so you can see run training updates if you are interested.

The run is in June, but I will leave the page open until the end of July to carry the fundraising through my birthday.
