Story
This year, our son George was diagnosed with autism.
It’s been a hard year for him, and for us as a family. Not because of who he is — George is brilliant, funny, kind, and curious — but because the world often doesn’t meet him where he is. People talk about autistic people seeing the world differently, but the real issue is that the world doesn’t always see them properly. That’s what’s tough.
Since his diagnosis, we’ve seen how misunderstood autism still is. How quickly people make assumptions. How many families are out there trying to make things work without the right support or understanding.
That’s why I’ve decided to run the London Marathon in April 2026, to raise money for the National Autistic Society — a charity doing real, important work for autistic people and their families.
I’m not a runner. This is a huge challenge for me — physically and mentally — but I’m doing it for George. If he can wake up every day and face a world that doesn’t always understand him, then I can do this.
This charity doesn’t always get the attention or funding it deserves, but it’s helping people like George get the support they need and deserve.
If you can, please support me – support him – and help build a world where children like George are truly seen and understood.
Thank you xx
