Story

Hello to all my lovely family and friends,

After losing our beautiful Joe seven years ago, I have always wanted to do something in his memory, to raise awareness for anyone who is struggling and to make him proud.

So in my 70th year, I am about to embark on an 800km walk named, The Camino Frances. I start my journey on Friday 2nd May in France and will travel nearly 800km across the Pyrenees and end my journey in Santiago, Spain.

If any of you want to see what my journey may entail, there is a wonderful film called, 'The Way' a true story all about a Father's journey for his son, completing the Camino.

I have decided to support a local charity, a charity very close to my heart, set up by three parents who have all lost their teenage sons to suicide. They vowed to do all they could to prevent other families suffering similar tragedies, they focus on suicide awareness and mental health and well being in schools and work places.

The OLLIE Foundation (One Life Lost is Enough) is a registered charity funding suicide intervention skills training for adults working with young people.

Your fundraising helps the charity train even more people, break down the stigma attached to suicide, and increase awareness!

My daughters will be updating this page with my progress and a few pictures of the stunning scenery.

So, I thank you all for any support and donations that you are able to make, to help me reach my target.

Lots of Love
