My father Colin Green founded IMET 2000 26 years ago with the aim to improve healthcare, education and research in low resource countries.

He sadly passed away on 12th June 2026. As a tribute to him we are appealing to try and raise funds for 2 of his much loved projects in Uganda.

1) The cataract surgery and outreach programmes at Herona hospital in Kisoga, Uganda.

Blindness from cataracts isolates individuals and forces families into poverty. Our medical outreach teams travel to remote communities in Uganda to screen patients and provide free sight-restoring cataract surgery. To date our opthalmology surgeon Dr Susan Kikira and her team have successfully operated on over 1250 patients aged 1-91 years old.

2) Child welfare - every child deserves a safe environment, access to healthcare and education. We provide essential nutrition, medical care and educational support to vulnerable children and orphans. By securing their basic needs today, we are empowering them to break the cycle of poverty tomorrow. The Triumph programme set up by Richard Field (MBE) IMET's representative in Uganda aims to achieve these goals.
