CTM NHS Charity helps make things better for patients, families and NHS staff across CTM. Every pound donated stays local and makes a real difference through comfortable spaces for patients and their families, or extra wellbeing support for NHS staff. Together, we make good things happen.

Story

Always seeking the next personal challenge Pete Hollins and Alun (Haz) Harries are cycling across Europe this Summer from the most westerly point in Wales to where East meets West in Europe, Istanbul.

Both guys are keen that supporters and followers of their latest adventure have the opportunity to celebrate their efforts by contributing to causes that they support.

CTM NHS Charity is the official charity supporting patients, families and NHS staff across Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf. Every pound donated stays local and helps fund practical improvements that make a real difference, from extra equipment and better spaces to staff wellbeing support and community health projects.

Where are they now!

After leaving St David's on 25th June they cycled through Wales and England. They were joined by a group of fellow riders at Harwich for a ferry crossing to Holland on 6th July. Setting off in scorching heat, the group then followed a route through Holland, Belgium and France to the German border. Pete and Haz then waved goodbye to the group and crossed the border into Germany. Passing through the stunning Black Forest, and finding the source of the Danube, they reached Austria on 16th July.

Day 14, in Austria Pete said: "Each day goes down as the best yet. Staggering Tyrol scenery, such jaw dropping vistas around so many corners and making memories that will last forever."

Following the Danube and stunning routes through the Tyrol they reached Vienna and had time for a little site-seeing, then into Slovenia, They are due to cross into their ninth country Hungary, reaching Budapest on 21st July. That just leaves Romania, Bulgaria, and finally reach Turkey in early August.
