Story
I am taking part in the Thames Hospice Sunflower Walk. Whilst this walk may be a challenge for me, I know what a difference the money will make to those patients and families who are facing the most difficult of challenges.
💚 £12 could pay for a patient’s medication for a day
💚 £25 could pay for an assisted bath helping a patient to relax
💚 £57 could pay for a bereavement call to support a family member
Thames Hospice are here to ensure that patients and their families are cared for with the utmost compassion, dignity and respect. Every penny raised from the Sunflower walk will ensure that Thames Hospice can continue to provide compassionate care to those in the local community who need it now and in the future.
I am walking the 10k event with friend Gerry Neaves; we run the Friday Come and Play Toddlers Group at Cookham Rise Methodist Church. Both of us have had the amazing support of the Hospice at Home Service for our husbands. The whole team is wonderful - nurses, doctors, OT's - and the carers are lovely, kind, patient and with a good sense of humour. I also benefited from the night sitting service that had just been introduced.
My son Tim is over from Melbourne and will also be walking with me.
Please help us raise much needed money for Thames Hospice.
