Story
On 25th July 2026 The Academy of Physical Medicine aims to take up all 50 tandem skydiving places at Sibson Aerodrome, near Peterborough!
The aim is to raise as much money as possible for Medical Detection Dogs, who do such a fabulous job of training our canine friends to help with all sorts of medical conditions: diabetic emergencies, neurological disease - even cancer.
In Spring 2024 my spaniel sniffed intensely at my left breast, I palpated the area and it felt different, though no lump, I kept an eye on it, 2 weeks later I found a lump. It was found to be a fast growing breast cancer, but thankfully only stage 2. I am now pathologically free of cancer and just on preventative care. Dogs are incredible with what they can detect and what they provide to society. I know was well as mine possibly saving my life, they are a real tonic and comfort.
This skydive itself will be funded by me so any contributions here go straight to Medical Detection Dogs. As it so happens the very talented and compassionate Oncologist who I was fortunate to have is closely involved in this charity too.
