Katie Cannon is raising money for MiracleFeet UK

Cycling swimming & running 1000km · 1 August 2026

Founded by parents of children born with clubfoot, MiracleFeet has helped change the lives of more than 80,000 children in 34 different countries. Unlike so many of the world’s problems, clubfoot is solvable using a non-surgical treatment that results in full correction of the foot.

This August I’m taking on a big challenge..

1000 kilometres in 30 days.

My goal is simple:

Raise €1000 for MiracleFeet while completing 1000 km in just 30 days.

This challenge is incredibly personal.

I was born with a unilateral club foot, and years later, so was my son.

When I was born, the Ponseti method—the gold standard treatment used today—wasn’t yet available in the UK. Instead, I spent much of my childhood in hospitals, undergoing countless surgeries. I spent months on crutches, in plaster casts and in wheelchairs recovering after operation after operation.

It wasn’t easy, but I was determined that my club foot would never define me or stop me living the life I wanted.

Fast forward to today, and I’m lucky enough to be able to cycle, swim, hike, play golf, lift weights and now attempt 1000 km in 30 days.

Things are very different for many children born with clubfoot today. The Ponseti method uses a series of gentle casts, followed by a small procedure if needed and then special boots and a bar. When started early, it has an incredible success rate, giving children the opportunity to walk, run and play just like everyone else.

Sadly, many children around the world still don’t have access to this treatment.

That’s why I’m supporting MiracleFeet.

Every kilometre I complete is for a child who deserves the same opportunity that my son and I were given.

And I won’t be doing this alone…

❤️ Christopher will be joining me on the indoor bike.

🌊 Lily and I will be swimming at least 1 km in the sea every day.

🥾 Joshua will be joining me on plenty of hikes.

🚴 Thomas will be helping clock up the kilometres on our bikes when the temperatures cool down.

❤️ And Scott… he’ll be joining me at the weekends…

…although he doesn’t know that yet until he reads this post! 🤣❤️

This challenge is about so much more than kilometres.

It’s about giving children born with clubfoot the opportunity to take their very first steps towards a brighter future.

If you’d like to support us—whether by donating, sharing this post or simply cheering us on over the next 30 days—we’d be so grateful.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.

Let’s help more children take their first steps. ❤️
