Story
I’d like to dedicate this to Anyu, my grandmother who died in 2012 after battling breast cancer. Her name was Sali Kataline, Anyu is Hungarian for “mom” but we all called her that anyway, and I am named after her. Everyone who knew her knew that she was the kindest, most beautiful soul and its my goal everyday to try and follow in her footsteps. As a tribute to my butterfly tattoo which is a metaphor for the white butterfly - some believe they are a loved one coming to check up on you, I will be wearing all white on race day. Breast Cancer awareness is so close to my heart and its so important that young women know how to check for signs so please have a read on their website even if you can’t donate anything!!
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest.
We educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves. We do this because when diagnosed early and accurately, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection truly can save lives.
