In May 2023, we received the devastating news that my dad has Non Hodgkin Lymphoma. We were also told that it is not curable but can be controlled with treatment, which obviously shook us all. My dad is currently having his treatment of chemotherapy which will end in September and hopefully has made some improvements to his condition.

I want to do this Zip line (even though I'm absolutely petrified) as watching my dad suffer the way he has, has been the worst thing in the world and I've just felt so helpless. I am raising money to support Lymphoma Action, the UK's only charity dedicated to lymphoma, which is the 5th most common cancer and the most common blood cancer in the UK. Lymphoma Action provides trusted information and emotional support, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Their mission is to make sure no one faces lymphoma alone.

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month and whether you’ve recently been diagnosed, are living with lymphoma, or have a loved one who has been affected, you can count on us to support you and your family or friends from diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond.

Despite being the UK’s 5th most common cancer and the most common blood cancer, we know that many people don’t know about lymphoma symptoms and the support available. Taking part in our very special Zip Challenge event this September will help us to raise awareness as well as vital funds so that we can help more people, sooner.
