Story
Thank you for visiting our Chilterns 25k challenge page! I'm excited (and a little apprehensive!) to be taking on another walking challenge with my amazing, dear friends Helen and Topsy, to raise funds for a fabulous charity Helen works for.
Working Chance is the UK's only employment charity solely for women with convictions. Working Chance provides specialist employability support that is tailored to each woman, for as long as it's needed - helping them to find jobs, work experience or education and training opportunities.
The women that Working Chance supports face multiple challenges to rebuild their lives and find jobs after a conviction, including trauma, mental health difficulties, stigma and poverty. Employment plays a key role in helping women to rebuild their lives and we work tirelessly to make sure that every woman can find the right opportunity that suits their skills, needs and interests. Since 2009, Working Chance has supported thousands of women into employment, providing a future where she and her family can flourish.
“Working Chance made me realise that I am a valuable member of society, that I am worthy of a career and that I have the necessary skills and experience to find meaningful employment.” Hannah, Working Chance client.
The demand for Working Chance's employment support is increasing, and we currently have a waiting list of women who need support.
That's why I'm taking on this challenge for Working Chance, to help Working Chance reach many more women so that they can rebuild their lives through employment.
