Hi, I'm Katie and I'm volunteering with Project Trust for a year starting in September 2025, just after I finish my A-levels!

After a few changes, I’m excited to share that I’ll now be spending my year abroad volunteering with STEKA in Blantyre, Malawi. STEKA is a family home that supports children and young people who’ve experienced significant challenges.

I’ll be involved in daily support—helping with homework, leading creative sessions, mentoring, and teaching at the nursery. I’ll also be supporting vocational training projects to help young people build brighter futures.

To make this happen, I need to raise £7,450 to cover my flights, health insurance, accommodation, living expenses, and more. Any donations — big or small — would mean the world to me and help make this life-changing opportunity a reality.

Project Trust specialise in 8 or 12 month teaching and youth development placements in communities abroad. It is important to note that Project Trust only sends volunteers to communities who ask for volunteers and do not take jobs away from local people. Project Trust has been funding international placements for over 50 years and have sent over 7,000 volunteers to communities all over the world where young people have the opportunity to gain life experience but most importantly teach and help develop young people.
