London Marathon 2025

Katie Geraghty is raising money for World Cancer Research Fund

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Our amazing team of runners are taking on the iconic 2025 London Marathon. Working together to support our prevention and survival work, helping people to live longer, happier, healthier lives – free from the devastating effects of cancer.

Story

Like so many, I have seen first hand the effect of losing a loved one to cancer. I know going forward in my life many more I love will go through cancer and I want to contribute whatever I can to help research and hopefully see more people survive cancer.

Every run I do is in memory of my wonderful Dad, Gerry. Born to Irish parents, Delia and Jim Geraghty, Gerry was born in and spent his early years in Clapham, before moving home to Mayo, Ireland around age 6. It seems a fitting tribute to run my first marathon in the city he was born and reared in.

I am so grateful to have this opportunity to run alongside the World Cancer Research Charity's 2025 team. Please consider donating towards our worthy cause.

In loving memory of Gerry Geraghty 1956-2019
