I’m afraid I’m exploiting my 50th birthday celebration as an excuse to raise money for a project in Siret, a small town in the north of Romania. Many of you have supported me over many years to raise funds for this important project which sits very close to my heart and I am extremely grateful. School for Life works with orphaned institutionalised young people with additional support needs, who have no access to daily activity, stimulation or education out with what is provided by the charity. Up until very recently they have provided specialised educational activities for the young adults, both at their purpose built school and gymnasium in the local town, and in the institution itself. Their focus now is on the 3 ladies, former residents of the neuropsychiatric hospital, who are living independently in a supported home. The money raised will go directly to support this work in Siret. The charity have no admin costs in this country which means that every penny you donate, with the exception of bank transfer charges, goes directly to support the people that so desperately need it.
