30 for 30 Challenge – Reclaiming My Fitness for a Cause That Matters
This year, SUDEP Action marks 30 years of life-saving work—supporting those bereaved by epilepsy, raising awareness of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), and fighting for change in memory of every life lost too soon.
To honour this milestone, I’m taking part in our September 30 for 30 Challenge—doing 30 minutes of exercise every day for 30 days.
But for me, this isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s personal.
Just a few years ago, I could run a half marathon without blinking. A 5K run was a quick, no-big-deal distance. Now? I struggle to make it through a 5K without needing to stop and walk—especially if there’s a hill involved.
Somewhere along the way, life got busy, fitness took a backseat, and my confidence slipped. So this challenge is my way of taking it back.
I’m doing this for SUDEP Action, for the people and families we support every day—and I’m doing it for myself. For the version of me who used to feel strong, and for the version I know I can be again.
If you can spare a donation, big or small, I’d be so grateful. Every pound raised helps SUDEP Action continue its vital work, and your support will help keep me moving on the hard days.
Thank you for reading—and for being part of this journey with me.
