Step Out 2026
Campaign by Beat (RCN 801343)
This June, we’re asking you to Step Out on a walk and join a community walking together to support recovery and raise awareness of eating disorders.

Story

Almost a year ago to the day, we took our 13 year old daughter to the GP with concerns and suspicions that she was suffering from an eating disorder.

Devastatingly, those fears turned out to be true and Millie was referred to the Children’s and Young People’s Eating Disorder Service (CYPEDS) and she has been receiving treatment from them ever since.

The Beat website was the first ever form of information that we were given in order to learn about eating disorders and how to help support a family member with one. It has helped and supported Millie and it has assisted us, her parents, to understand the illness better so that we can be best equipped to aid her recovery.

Our personal mission is to raise awareness of Beat as well as raise money to help fund their services for others in need. It’s a charity that is so close to our heart and has been invaluable to us on Millie’s journey to recovery.

On Saturday 13th June, we are inviting friends and family on a walk. We’ll ensure that the route is accessible for anyone and everyone who would like to join us. What matters is walking side by side. Moving together creates space for relaxed conversation, connection, and reflection — a simple but powerful way to support wellbeing and recovery. Hopefully, Millie will be able to join us and we can show her just how many people are right there with her, supporting her to continue fighting the fight against this truly awful illness.

Step Out in support and in hope.

From Beat’s helpline to their online workshops and chatrooms, they are on a mission to end the pain caused by eating disorders by providing support and bringing people together to ensure that recovery is possible.

Every pound that is raised helps improve the lives of people affected by eating disorders, as well as those who support them.

We hope that you can help us help others in one way or another.

Thank You 💜
