Katie's Thriller in the Villa 2026 Fundraiser for Ed Space

Katie Joyce is raising money for Ed Space
In memory of Eddie Joyce

Thriller in the villa 2026

We are trying to spread the word on the Isle of Man that “Its ok, not to be ok”, We need to get rid of the stigma surrounding having poor Mental Health, and start talking to each other on how we are truly feeling. No one should suffer in silence.

Story

I'm stepping well outside my comfort zone and taking part in Thriller in the Villa 2026 to raise money for Ed Space. Any support is hugely appreciated. Thriller in the Villa is a fun event for the Island's community, providing a platform for local fundraising. The event sees local volunteers embrace the challenge of stepping into the boxing ring and raising funds for their chosen charity in the Villa Marina's Royal Hall in Douglas, Isle of Man.

I chose to take part in Thriller in the Villa 2026 because, quite honestly, I must be a little bit crazy!

I've always wanted to take part and finally decided to throw myself in at the deep end. It is completely outside of my comfort zone, which is exactly why I signed up. It is a chance to challenge myself, build confidence, learn something new, raise money for a fantastic cause, and have a lot of fun along the way.

I have chosen to support Ed Space, a charity established in memory of my dad, Eddie Joyce. Ed Space was created to promote mental health awareness, encourage open conversations, and provide support for people who may be struggling.

This charity is incredibly close to my heart. Mental health affects so many people and their families, and the work that Ed Space does across the Isle of Man helps ensure that nobody feels alone. Their message, "It's OK not to be OK", continues to make a real difference within our community.

The training and preparation will undoubtedly be challenging, and stepping into the ring will be one of the most nerve-racking things I have ever done. However, knowing that I am raising money for a charity with such a personal connection to my family will keep me motivated every step of the way.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Ed Space continue its important work and would mean the world to me.

Thank you for supporting me, supporting Ed Space, and helping me survive Thriller in the Villa 2026!
