Story
On February 3rd 2026, it will be 10 years since I lost my beautiful mummy, Mandy. I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in her memory, and to raise money for The North London Hospice, where she spent her final weeks.
Mandy was the most incredible mummy and woman, and it's hard to believe that it has been so long since I saw her beautiful smiling face in person. As well as being the most loving, caring mummy anybody could wish for, she was a strong, resilient and driven woman, who made things happen, and growing up made me feel like anything was possible. Whatever she was faced with in life, she tackled it with bravery, humour and a smile.
During the final stages of her illness, she somehow managed to find the strength to raise over £30,000 for charity playing 72 holes of golf in one day, at 4 different golf clubs.
In the last weeks of her life, she was cared for by the North London Hospice. During those weeks, the Hospice became home to me, my brother and my grandma and we saw first-hand the difference that it makes to people's lives. As well as being full of wonderful carers, they went above and beyond to make the time we had left with mummy special, we were able to do things like have Shabbat dinners, and even host a tea party for my mum's birthday with friends, just two days before she died.
They are an incredible organisation and I can't think of a better way to honour my mum's legacy than to raise as much money as possible for them. I would be so grateful if you would sponsor me.
