Story
I’m taking on the Lake District 100km ultra hike for Cancer Research UK.
A couple of years ago, I did a similar challenge after Lucy was diagnosed with duodenal cancer - an incredibly rare form of the disease. She showed unbelievable strength through everything she faced. Last year, shortly after turning just 50, we lost Lucy, an amazing mum, step-mum and wife to our family and a wonderful friend to so many.
The impact on our family has been heartbreaking, so I’m doing this for Luce, and for everyone affected by cancer.
At least half of everything I raise will be specifically directed towards research into rare cancers through CRUK, which so often don't get the funding or research they desperately need.
So this time, I’ve decided to push myself even further and take on the Lake District 100km! It’ll be tougher, hillier, and I’ll be doing it solo. I’m aiming to complete it within 24 hours, which I know will involve a lot of pain and some questionable decision-making (legs & feet are already screaming at me) - but I know every step will be worth it for such an important cause.
If you’re able to donate, big or small, I’d be so grateful. Thank you so much for your support - it means so much 💛
