Katie and Tammy's fundraiser for Marie Curie

10,000 feet Skydive · 26 August 2024
We simply cannot thank Marie Curie and their Rapid Response Team enough for the help and care they gave my Grandma in her final days at home before her death. They responded to our calls within minutes and were there 24 hours a day regardless of the query. Be it emotional advice or help.
These ladies are unsung heroes. A special thanks goes to my Auntie Joanne, a Marie Curie Nurse. She guided the family through one of the toughest things we could ever do and remained so strong despite it being so personal for her. She provided 24 hour a day care for Grandma and also trained us all on how we could help. We couldn't have done it without her.
Myself and Tammy are looking to fundraise as much as we can for the second time around. Our challenge this year is jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet with a 30 second free fall. Anything you contribute today we are so grateful for however big or small. You don't know what's round the corner in life but we know one thing. This horrible disease will hopefully one day have a cure. Until then, this team will work round the clock to help families out there and people like me. I will also work tirelessly to raise as much money as I can for this amazing charity and hopefully in doing so make Grandma Joan proud.
Tammy is joining me on the skydive in loving memory of her own family members who she has lost through this disease. She is doing this in memory of her Uncle, Tony Eddy, who sadly lost his life 4 years ago to cancer, he was only in his early 60’s and he was taken far too soon. Like so many of us can relate too. Tammy as well as myself is absolutely terrified of heights and this is probably one of the biggest challenges in both of our lives.
Last year our fundraiser was a 26 mile walk raising £1840 - lets smash that this year and raise as much money as we can to help and assist dying loved ones and families like ours.
Nobody should have to go through this alone.
