Story
I manage an out-of-hours crisis service that provides face-to-face support 7 days a week, 365 days a year, between 5pm and 1am. We offer non-clinical emotional support and a therapeutic alternative to A&E. Being able to offer a safe space for those who are struggling is something I feel incredibly proud to be part of.
One of the biggest challenges we face is transport to the Sanctuary. With limited public transport in the evenings, and many of the people we support unable to drive, afford a taxi, or get a lift, actually getting to us can be a real barrier.
Last year, I raised money to help fund transport costs — covering Ubers, taxis, and other travel expenses — and it made a huge difference. We’ve seen a real increase in visits, and more people are getting the support they need because they’re simply able to get here ❤️
So this year, I’m doing it all over again! First up is the Newport Marathon on April 13th, followed by the Gower Peninsula Ultra Marathon on July 19th — my first ever 50km ultra!
Any donations, no matter how small, will help people in crisis access vital face-to-face support. Thank you so much for your kindness and support — wish me luck! 🫶
