Scafell Pike climb · 27 June 2026

Welcome to Step for Scoliosis, a fun and impactful way to fundraise while staying active! Every pound you raise helps us support those living with scoliosis and invest in life-changing research.

Story

In 2010 I was diagnosed with scoliosis and in 2011 I underwent a spinal fusion to correct the curvature and prevent it getting worse. The diagnosis came as a huge shock and has been life changing for me.

It has brought many challenges, including learning to live with the reduced mobility in my spine, to managing chronic pain, not to mention the psychological impact of the diagnosis and surgery.

For years, I wished someone would show me what was still possible and last year, we decided to prove it!!

Together, 40 people with scoliosis and spinal fusions climbed Snowdon through a storm and we raised £27,000 for charity - it was absolutely brutal but I am so proud of our team for summiting and showing how strong we are with our spines.

It was one of the most powerful days of my life so we of course are doing it again! This year, we’re taking on Scafell Pike.

Curva’s Scoli Scafell Trek 2026

Date: Saturday 27th June 2026 (rounding off Scoliosis Awareness Month)

Where: Scafell Pike, Lake District

Who: A qualified trekking guide and 40+ people with scoliosis and spinal fusions

What: A challenging but achievable mountain climb, around 6–8 hours… and yes, a well-earned pub dinner afterwards!

We are fundraising once again for Scoliosis Support & Research – the UK’s only scoliosis charity dedicated to supporting those with scoliosis and spinal fusion through awareness, support and research funding.

We really appreciate any donations and awareness this brings to the reality of living with scoliosis and spinal fusion, thank you so much for your support.
