Myself and my husband, Kyle, will be taking part in the Barnsley 10k in June to raise money for the Rainbow Room at Barnsley Hospital, in memory of our beautiful daughter, Lyla.

Lyla was diagnosed with a very severe heart defect that was seen at our 20 week scan. Unfortunately, our daughter came into the world far too early, and she fell to sleep peacefully in my arms a short while later, forever watching over her big brother from the clouds up above.

We spent time in The Rainbow Room with our daughter before we had to say our final goodbye. It is a private space that provided us with comfort and gave us vital support at the most difficult time.

No parent should have to go through the loss of a child, but with designated spaces like this, families are given precious time with their babies and are provided with lots of comfort items to remember their baby, such as memory boxes, teddy bears, blankets and clothes.
