Story

This year I am running the Great North Run for the North East Autism Society, with the aim of raising awareness for those with autism and eradicating judgement.

NEAS empower and support autistic children, young people, adults and their families. One of those families being my own.

Both my niece and nephew have autism and NEAS has provided a weekly safe space for both them and my sister and brother in law.

There is still a lot of judgement surrounding autism and NEAS provide groups where children and adults can just be themselves.

NEAS aim to inspire, support, celebrate and equip autistic and neurodivergent people to fulfil their potential in life. They provide education for children and young adults, social/vocational training, along with supported and open employment opportunities for adults, year-round residential placements and supported living services. NEAS also directly work with parents and carers, offering family support including, short breaks, support in the home, and evening and weekend activities.

NEAS provide a lifeline to families.

Any donations are greatly appreciated 🤍
