On 4th October I am running the Manchester Half in aid of Cancer Research UK 🏃‍♀️

1 in 2 people in the UK will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime.

On 26th March my sister was told she had breast cancer, pretty much two years after my dad completed treatment for prostate cancer. So that statistic covers just my immediate family!

My sister is currently half way through her chemotherapy, with some further treatment towards the end of the year, and is absolutely smashing it 👊 She’s faced everything with complete determination and resilience, not only with this diagnosis, but particularly over the last 3 years when life just LOVES to throw her and our Deano some curveballs. She’s the epitome of STRENGTH, and I’m so proud she’s MY FREAKIN SISTER 🫶

A half marathon is nothing in comparison to what my sister and many others have to endure when fighting cancer, but running is cheaper than therapy (lol 🤪) so I might as well try and raise some money whilst I’m at it.

Dropping my sister at The Christie’s is probs one of the most humbling experiences, realising the thousands of people that are receiving some form of treatment every day.
