I'm running for Ataxia UK!|

Great North Run 2024 · 8 September 2024 ·
My uncle has genetic spinocerebellar Ataxia which is an incurable condition with no effective treatment. The gene runs in the family. Fundraising for research for a cure in the future or some treatment that will improve symptoms is close to my heart.
Ataxia is the term for a group of conditions that affect co-ordination, balance and speech. Ataxias are caused by damage to the cerebellum or other parts of the nervous system and the effects of the disorder generally get progressively worst over many years.
People living with ataxia can find it increasingly difficult to perform day-to-day tasks such as walking, speaking, swallowing, and other tasks that require motor control such as writing and eating.
I am fundraising for Ataxia UK because it is a great charity providing funds and support to ataxia research with the goal of developing treatments and cures for the ataxias.
Thank you for your support!Join me this Sept for the Great North Run & help us achieve our ambitious goal of raising £10,000 for crucial ataxia research & support. Sponsor me as your involvement is crucial for progress to a cure!
