Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I decided to try to run the 15 mile to have a goal for getting myself fit after having a baby. Then a really good family friend told me about the infakara bakery project which provides free bread to vulnerable groups in Tanzania.
I had really good care from NHS while in hospital with new baby. There was a couple of times when I had to be in hospital with her after birth. We both had a meal offered on NHS.
This is not the case for patients in Tanzania’s. ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL, IFAKARA. It is not the responsibility of the hospital to feed its patients. They have to rely on their families to provide food. If the patient lives locally it probably will happen but all too often the patient's family may be 2 to 3 days walking or even cycling distance away and then the foodline will only be very intermittent. For many patients at the St. Francis Hospital the supply of daily bread is a lifeline Provided by the bakery project. No funds donated are used to cover admistrative costs, 100% of donations go directly to Ifakara.
I want to support Ifakara bakery project. I feel people should get a good meal while they receive treatment. Being well fed can make a real difference to peoples recovery, so I really want to support Ifakara Bakery product.
