I’ll be abseiling down the 170-metre-high Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth because young people in Hampshire deserve access to opportunities to help them become Changemakers in our world!!

Unloc, where I work, doesn't normally do traditional fundraising activities but this is part of an exciting partnership with Brighterway, the registered charity for the Hampshire and IOW NHS Foundation Trust.

Every pound donated will go directly to a young person in Hampshire and the IOW in the form of a small grant so that they can show leadership on a healthcare, mental health and/or wellbeing issue of their choice! They will get the chance to launch a project that encourages other young people to access services, that they may face barriers or challenges to accessing, in order to support their wellbeing.

We believe that enabling young people to test out their ideas with real money is a truly empowering way to help young people develop important skills for life whilst also helping to tackle some of society's biggest challenges through genuine youth-led grassroots campaigning. Now, more than ever, we need to be investing in the next generation and giving them opportunities to develop their skills and confidence and make change in their community!
